A New Year And An All-New David Trait!
Well, mostly new. Undoubtedly, many of you will have noticed the changes that have been made here at The David Trait, the most obvious being the change of template. It's my hope that the new layout and background will translate into better usability and lend a professional air to the site.
I've also added or modified a few features in the sidebar that I hope you'll take note of. If you scroll down you'll notice two new sections in the sidebar: "Featured Blog" and "Featured Book." Every month I plan on highlighting a blog and a book that I believe are worth checking out. Please make it a habit to investigate these featured links on a regular basis - you might end up being blessed!
January's offering includes a site aimed (primarily) at men entitled The Roof Guys. Dan Wold authors this blog dedicated to "discussions on God's Word, money, business, college, work, church, relationships, and the Glory of God." Head on over there today, and show him some support!
The featured book for the month is Gary Thomas' Sacred Marriage: What If God Designed Marriage To Make Us Holy More Than To Make Us Happy? You'll notice that this is the same book I quoted from in my post from December 22nd. Sacred Marriage seeks to challenge the prevailing mindset that the ultimate goal of marriage is our own happiness. Rather, it presents the argument that marriage was designed by God so that we would reflect the character of Christ and grow in His likeness.
Another new feature here at The David Trait is the option to receive email notification of new postings. By subscribing to FeedBlitz, you'll receive an email each time The David Trait is updated. What's nice about FeedBlitz is it works like an aggregator, but it's delivered straight to your email inbox - perfect for people who don't use aggregators or who are sick of checking out a site over and over again to see if it's been updated! If this describes you, then subscribe today! You'll find the FeedBlitz box at the bottom of the sidebar.
In closing, I plan on doing more of my own writing this year and am considering adding a prayer thread to the site. If this is something that you would like to see here at The David Trait, please let me know. Also, please check out the new mini poll in the sidebar.
This new year, it's my prayer that you'll be blessed each time you visit the David Trait!
